Board Chair
Cori Ghitter, KC
Cori is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ron and Myrna Ghitter Foundation (RMGF), a charitable foundation focused on human rights education and advocacy as well as youth engagement in sport and the arts.
Prior to joining RMGF, Cori was the Deputy Executive Director and Director of Policy and Education at the Law Society of Alberta. In this role, she worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer to support the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She was also responsible for overseeing much of the strategic work of the organization that comes out of the Education and Policy departments.
She was instrumental in a variety of projects dedicated to lawyer competence in Alberta, including looking at the efficacy of articling as training for new lawyers, developing strategies for ongoing training including changes to the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program, and promoting the role of wellness in lawyer competence. She oversaw the recent development of a Professional Development Profile that sets out the competencies Alberta lawyers are expected to demonstrate in their everyday practice.
Cori was born and raised in Calgary. She received her LLB in 1994 from the University of Calgary, her LLM in 2000 from the University of British Columbia and her King’s Counsel designation in 2022.
Cori was the recipient of the 2021 Women in Law Leadership (WILL) award for Leadership in the Profession (Broader Roles). She chaired the Board of Directors of Vibrant Communities Calgary and is currently Chair of the Board of the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPLED). Cori is also a member of the Board of Directors for Momentum, an organization dedicated to reducing poverty through the development of a more inclusive local economy. She was previously a member of the Stewardship Group of the Calgary Poverty Reduction Initiative and has served as a Director on the boards of the Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations and the YWCA of Calgary.
Board Vice-Chair
Tim Brown, KC
Tim was appointed Executive Director of the Law Society of Saskatchewan in January 2017 to lead a staff of 30 and oversee, facilitate and guide a leadership policy board of 23 ambitious Benchers, guiding the direction and regulation of Saskatchewan’s legal profession in the public interest.
Tim has practiced law in Saskatchewan for over 25 years and has gained a wide range of experience in both large and small firms, government and the legal aid system. He owned his own law firm and has acted as an adjudicator on tribunals. In private practice, he practised criminal law, initially as a Prosecutor and then as a Defence Lawyer. Tim was Counsel with the Saskatchewan Lawyers’ Insurance Association for five years before becoming Executive Director at the Society.

Leah Kosokowsky
Leah has served as the Law Society of Manitoba’s Chief Executive Officer since January 2021, bringing with her 21 years of experience in professional regulation. Leah is leading the work of the Law Society with a focus on equity, diversity and inclusion in the legal profession with a particular interest in Indigenous lawyers. The current strategic focus also includes improving and enhancing the competence of lawyers, increasing access to justice and increasing awareness of the public protection mandate of the Law Society.
Leah is an active participant in national initiatives in national discipline standards, anti-money laundering, and terrorist financing.
After being called to the Bar in Manitoba in 1991, Leah practiced in the area of civil and commercial litigation, insurance and employment law with Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP. She joined the Law Society of Manitoba’s Discipline Department in 1999 and held various positions with the Law Society before she was appointed the Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Mark T. Morpurgo DBA, FCPA, FCMA
Dr. Morpurgo is an accountant by trade who gives back to his profession through teaching and mentoring students in the field. He is a fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCMA), who received his Doctorate of Business Administration from Athabasca University in 2015, a Master of Business Administration in 2002 and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1994.
Dr. Morpurgo currently develops, maintains and delivers Accounting courses at various institutions around Canada, including the Shannon School of Business, where he is an Associate Faculty Member and Athabasca University as an Academic Coordinator. He also works as an Online Facilitator with the CPA Western School of Business for the CPA Professional Education Program. Dr. Morpurgo previously held full-time and sessional teaching appointments at the Selkirk College, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), the University of Alberta and MacEwan University.
He has also been an active member of his community, where he previously volunteered as a Board Member with Alberta Avenue Community League and the Theatre Prospero Association. Dr. Morpurgo was a Member of the National Board of Examiners with CMA Canada and resided on various committees and task groups provincially and nationally.

Jacqueline Mullenger
Jackie is currently the Interim Deputy Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society. She currently leads the implementation of the Strategic Plan for the Society.
Jackie joined the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 1995 as a full-time instructor in the Skills Course. She has served in various roles at the Society for the past 30 years, most notably as the Director of Education & Credentials from 1998 to 2021. She has been involved with many projects leading to innovation including the implementation of the Legal Profession Act, the new Civil Procedure Rules, the legacy Bar Examination, the Land Registration Act education, and the inception of the Legal Services Support regime, as well as the implementation of the Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP). Most recently she led the project to adopt the PATH training as a mandatory program for all practising members.
After being called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1988, Jackie practiced in the areas of family law, civil litigation, property law and wills and estates with Buchan, Derrick and Ring. She appeared in the Supreme Court of Canada with Anne Derrick in R. v. Morgentaler in 1993.

Brendan Nagle
Brendan Nagle has had a distinguished career as an educator, learning technologist, and entrepreneur. His professional journey spans the public and private sectors, where he has excelled in transitioning traditional educational environments into innovative e-learning spaces. He founded and operated one of the earliest full-service e-learning companies in Canada, providing online learning, competency and exam management systems to governments, non-profits and private sector organizations. He also founded and served as board chair for a non-profit organization providing accessible online English language learning opportunities to newcomers across Canada.
Brendan has taught leadership and management in colleges and universities, co-authored a successful textbook, and served as a coach and mentor to students in business and entrepreneurship programs. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba.

Natalie Borden, B.Sc. (Pharm)
Natalie Borden has extensive experience working in health leadership and governance, since her graduation from Dalhousie University College of Pharmacy. She has spent over 16 years at the Province of Nova Scotia, most recently as a Senior Executive Director in the Department of Health and Wellness.
Throughout her career she has worked in community pharmacy, private insurance, and benefits consulting in NS, NB and ON, and has worked at many pharmacy organizations, including as a Shoppers Drug Mart associate owner.
She is also an experienced board member; serving as a member and chair of the Halifax Board of Police Commissioners; member of the NS Barristers’ Society Council and Complaints Investigation Committee, and on the Halifax Regional Police Foundation Board.
Natalie is an accomplished instructor and mentor; working with the Nova Scotia Community College’s African Nova Scotian Student Tutoring Program, as a lab demonstrator and lecturer with the Dalhousie University College of Pharmacy, and conducting admissions interviews for Dalhousie schools of Pharmacy and Medicine.

Patrick Devey, Ph.D.
Dr. Devey is a strategic learning leader and digital learning solutions expert with over 25 years of experience in higher education, corporate training, and workforce development. As President of Devey Learning Solutions, Dr. Devey partners with educational institutions, corporations, government agencies, and professional associations to design and implement innovative online learning strategies, customized training programs, and technology-enabled educational solutions. He has held executive leadership positions at Algonquin College (Ottawa, ON) and KnowledgeOne (Montréal, QC), where he successfully spearheaded digital transformation projects, grew academic portfolios and industry partnerships, and delivered award-winning eLearning programs.
Dr. Devey earned his Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Concordia University (Montréal, QC) and is recognized for his expertise in instructional design, digital learning ecosystems, learning analytics, and integrating AI within education and training. He leverages research-informed approaches to assist organizations in improving learner outcomes and meeting workforce objectives.

Erin Kleisinger, KC
Erin Kleisinger is the Managing Partner at McDougall Gauley LLP in Regina. She obtained her BA (Honours) and LLB at Queen’s University, and was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1993. She was appointed Queen’s (now King’s) Counsel in 2015.
With a focus on post-secondary institutions, Erin has advised and acted as general counsel to the University of Regina for over 25 years. She is a member of the Canadian Association of University Solicitors, and served as its President in 2017. She is listed in Best Lawyers in Canada in the Education Law category. Erin has appeared as counsel at all levels of court (including the Supreme Court of Canada), as well as before labour and human rights tribunals.
Erin regularly speaks and provides workshops for, and continuing legal education to, other lawyers, organizations, and clients on a range of issues, including administrative law, privacy law, investigations training, student disciplinary matters, contracting, and regulation of the legal profession. From 2007 – 2023, she taught at the Law Society of Saskatchewan’s Trial Advocacy Skills Workshop, and was the Workshop’s Chair from 2012 – 2023.
Erin is the Past-President of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada (having served on Federation Council since 2018, and as President in 2023-24). During her time on Council she sat on the National Requirement Review Committee and the Standing Committee on the Model Code of Professional Conduct, and chaired the Canadian Common Law Degree Approval Committee and the National Well-Being Study Steering Committee. She is currently the Co-Chair of the Federation / Canadian Council of Law Deans Joint Working Group on Legal Education and Entry to Practice.
Erin is a former Bencher and Past-President of the Law Society of Saskatchewan (2017). She served as the President of the Saskatchewan Legal Education Society Inc. from 2008 – 2010. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Group Medical Services and GMS Insurance Inc., a national individual health and group benefits insurance company, for over 20 years including two terms as Chair.
In 2025, in addition to her appointment with CPLED, Erin joined the board of directors of the Canadian Lawyers’ Insurance Association.
Past Chair
Don Thompson, KC
A leader in local and national affairs involving the legal profession, Don Thompson joined the Law Society of Alberta in 1999 as the Deputy Executive Director and was appointed CEO and Executive Director in 2001. He stepped down from his leadership role with the Law Society of Alberta in 2018, but remains the Board Chair for CPLED.
Don’s leadership skills have been exemplified through his work in streamlining business processes that meet local, provincial and national demands of key stakeholders in the legal profession. His passion for an accountable, responsive and proactive association has led to many successful initiatives that have raised the profile of the Law Society of Alberta, and Alberta’s legal profession in general.
Don has also been a leader on the national stage through his involvement with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, playing an instrumental role in developing the National Mobility Agreement, which provides for Canadian lawyers to work, almost unconditionally, in other Canadian provinces. His work has included professional competence, national and international lawyer mobility, and governance of the legal profession.
Don’s career spans more than 20 years of association management. Before joining the Law Society of Alberta, Don held a number of senior positions at the Law Society of British Columbia, most notably as Deputy Executive Director, where his talents were instrumental in implementing an advanced technology aimed at providing a high service, fully integrated membership resource program, the first of its kind in Canada.
Don holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Society of Association Executives. He received his Queen’s Counsel in 2004.
