Are you a lawyer looking for remote, flexible, rewarding opportunities to mentor, train and assess aspiring legal professionals? Consider becoming a contractor in the Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP), the Bar admissions program in multiple jurisdictions across Canada—Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, and British Columbia (as of September 2026).
Roles Available:
- Virtual Law Firm (VLF) Assessor / Capstone Evaluator
Review candidate assignments, provide constructive feedback, and evaluate competencies. Assessments include written tasks (30–45 minutes) and oral assignments (approximately 45–60 minutes).
- Practice Manager (PM)
Mentor candidates through simulated practice activities. PMs meet with candidates for 30–45 minutes to provide guidance on client management, ethics, and practice skills.
- Foundation Workshops Facilitator
Lead/facilitate interactive sessions on ethics, client relationship management, interviewing, negotiation, advocacy, legal drafting and legal writing.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Lawyers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and Nunavut
- LL.B./J.D. and in good standing with your law society
- Minimum 5+ years of active legal practice in Canada
- Experience in family law, criminal law, and/or business law (private practice not required)
- Strong communication and mentoring skills
