An essential element of traditional, in-person educational programs is the ability to connect and chat with fellow students during breaks between classes, develop relationships, and learn from each other.
In a virtual learning environment, the opportunity to connect can be challenging. The Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP) launched in June of 2020, and since the launch, all intakes have been delivered entirely online to protect the safety of students, Facilitators, Assessors and staff during the global pandemic.
As the December 2021 PREP intake will too be delivered online, CPLED is excited to introduce a new optional resource to help students foster meaningful relationships with fellow PREP students. “The online learning environment has been tough for many students. The opportunities to connect with fellow articling students during their Bar admission program are more difficult in the online environment. As well many have been attending law school online and have not been able to develop a meaningful network there either,” says Dr. Kara Mitchelmore, CEO of CPLED.
Enter CPLED’s new PREP Recess platform. PREP Recess is an online platform where students can meet one-on-one with fellow PREP students to learn from each other and develop a supportive network both for now and for their future as legal professionals.
PREP Recess is an optional resource students can take advantage of while enrolled in PREP. “We’re excited to offer this opportunity for students to connect and grow together,” says Dr. Mitchelmore. PREP Recess is launching for students later this month and will be available to them during the first three phases of PREP.
