Legal Research and Writing (LRW) Registration Opens on July 16

The next offering of the Legal Research and Writing (LRW) course begins on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Registration will be open from Wednesday, July 16 at 9:00 AM (MT) until Wednesday, July 30 at 11:59 PM (MT). No late registrations will be accepted. The course fee is $450, plus applicable taxes.
The course is available to legal professionals in Canada, with priority registration given to NCA applicants who have been issued an Assessment Report from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. Those outside of the NCA process will be admitted to the course as capacity permits, although we cannot guarantee admission.
Legal research and writing are fundamental skills required by all lawyers in Canada. CPLED developed the LRW course to provide valuable insights, best practices, and personalized feedback from trained assessors to help students build confidence and competence in these areas.
The LRW course is a learning tool designed to help students prepare for their NCA exams by strengthening their legal research and writing skills. Although it is not mandatory, the LRW course is highly recommended and often listed as a requirement on an Assessment Report.
