September 29, 2025
Our office will be closed on September 30 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This day invites all Canadians to reflect on the legacy of residential schools, honor survivors and their families, and acknowledge the ongoing impact of colonial systems on Indigenous communities across Turtle Island. It is also a time to celebrate the rich cultural contributions of Indigenous Peoples—contributions that continue to shape how we live, work, and play.
As members of the legal community, we carry a unique responsibility in the journey toward reconciliation. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action include several that speak directly to lawyers and law schools:
Understanding these calls is not optional—it’s essential. Legal professionals must be equipped to serve Indigenous clients with respect, humility, and awareness of historical and systemic injustices.

We encourage our community to take this day to listen, learn, and engage meaningfully. Don’t forget to wear orange to show the world that “Every Child Matters.” 🧡🧡🧡
