About Andrew

My name is Andrew Nyanhete. I am a Master of Laws student at UBC. I am originally from Zimbabwe, where I practiced Law for 2 years at Scanlen & Holderness Legal Practitioners (Ranked Band 1 Law Firm by Chambers & Partners). I moved to Canada in September 2023. 

Currently I am in the process of satisfying my NCA requirements and I am on course to complete my Certificate of Qualification (CQ) by July 2024. I have passed 6 out of the 8 subjects that I was assessed by the NCA.

I have good legal research and drafting skills. I am passionate about representing people and assisting them attain a just outcome. My legal philosophy is that law must be practiced with empathy. I have interests in personal injury law, criminal law, family law and general civil litigation. In my spare time, I enjoy playing chess, hiking and advocating for animal welfare. I volunteer at the Animal Law Clinic at UBC. 

I am of the view that I can make a meaningful contribution in any work environment.
