Windmill Microlending
Provides low-interest microloans to immigrants and refugees to help them pay for the costs of obtaining the licensing or training they require to work in their field in Canada. Windmill Microlending, a registered charity, is a flexible and affordable option to help students pay for their Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP) tuition fees and can even cover some living expenses that will make it possible to participate in the program.
With Windmill Microlending, students do not have to start repaying the principal until after they have completed PREP, and the interest rate is Prime + 1.5%.
If you are a Convention Refugee or Protected Person who has received their Notice of Decision within the last 3 years, you are eligible for Windmill’s interest-free Refugee Loan Program.
