As PREP candidates wrap up their legal education requirements and navigate their next step to entering the practice of law, we want to remind them that registration for the 2024 Bar admission programs, PREP and Accelerated PREP, opens on Monday, May 6, at 9 a.m. MT. This will be their chance to secure a place in the program delivery option that aligns with their learning preferences and moves them one step closer to achieving their professional goals.
We understand that preparing for the Bar admission program is a process filled with numerous tasks and responsibilities. To make the registration process as smooth as possible, we want to remind candidates that they will need to provide proof of their law degree/legal education requirement as part of registration. However, no proof of a candidate’s legal education is required for the initial registration. Our aim is to simplify the registration process, ensuring all candidates can effortlessly secure a spot in their preferred program delivery option.
While proof of a candidate’s legal education is not required at the initial registration phase, it is crucial to complete the enrolment checklist by the registration deadline to progress and enroll in the program. Please note that law schools located within CPLED jurisdictions have agreed to provide CPLED with their graduation lists once available. PREP candidates who are graduating from the University of Calgary, University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan, University of Manitoba or Dalhousie University in May 2024 are exempt from submitting their Canadian common law degrees for PREP and Accelerated PREP registration.
The enrolment checklist includes crucial steps such as providing proof of legal education, submitting a tuition fee payment and signing the academic integrity declaration form, among others. Finalizing the enrolment checklist is a mandatory requirement to confirm participation in this year’s programs. To prevent any delays, CPLED strongly encourages candidates to closely follow the program key dates documents (linked below) and ensure no deadline is missed.
For more information on the registration process, please refer to our, how do I register webpage or email us at admin@cpled.ca. The CPLED team is dedicated to supporting candidates throughout their Bar admission program journey and is available to assist with any registration queries. Remember, the journey to becoming a practicing lawyer begins this Monday, May 6, at 9 a.m. MT with program registration.
