Indigenous Peoples and the Law (IPL) Course for NCA Students

About the Course

The IPL course is an online, self-paced program designed to be completed within seven weeks. Students will have four weeks to work through the modules, followed by one week for review and preparation for the final assessment. The remaining two weeks are dedicated to the assessment period for each intake, which includes an opportunity for a re-attempt if needed. The IPL course will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of:

  • The historical and contemporary legal frameworks affecting Indigenous Peoples in Canada
  • Key principles and case law shaping Indigenous legal issues in Canada
  • Practical insights into how these principles apply within Canadian legal systems
