After years of studying for exams and writing papers, Canadian law students also have the critical task of procuring an articling position.
The Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPLED) has created a Student Resume Directory for law students or recent law school graduates to post their resume and connect with firms and recruiters for employment opportunities.
“The feedback we have received from students is that securing that all-important articling position can be a challenge,” says Dr. Kara Mitchelmore, CEO of CPLED.
“There is an increasing demand for articling positions in Canada and mainly from foreign-trained law students. While these students may have the education to succeed, they may not have the social and professional network needed to help secure an articling position. The CPLED Student Resume Directory was created as a resource law students can utilize to help connect them with potential employers,” says Dr. Micthelmore.
How does it work?
